Do you have a privacy policy?
I want to link to a story from my website/livejournal, but everytime I click on the link I made, I end up on the front page of RS.org. What's up with that?

Why can't I submit a fic?
As of May 2009, our site is closed to new fiction submissions. We decided to keep the site live in order to not lose the wonderful stories submitted to us over the years.

Can I still review?
The review boards were shut down when the main site closed but do check the author's profile page. Many of them include the author's email address. Please do drop the author an email if you enjoyed their story. I'm sure they'd love to hear it!

I emailed months/years ago but never got a response. How come?
Unfortunately, the moderator emails went for years without being actively checked. We never imagined that people would still be emailing years after the site closed. The email accounts are now being actively monitored, and I've caught up now though. So if a previous request is still unfulfilled, feel free to email me e-mail me and I'll take care of it for you.

Can I change my username?
Once you've registered an account, there is no way your username can be changed. If you absolutely must have a different username, you will need to sign up a new account.

Can I change my author name?
Yes. We prefer author names and usernames to be identical to save possible confusion, but if you do need to change your author name please e-mail us with "Author name change" in the subject field and a brief explanation about why this change is requested.

I registered with the incorrect birth date. Can I/you change it?
No. Like usernames, birth dates cannot be altered. If you have entered the incorrect birth date on sign-up, please notify us and we will keep a record of it should we ever need to check your account details in future. Please note that any accounts found to have listed a birth year not compatible with our age requirements will be immediately deleted.

I've forgot/lost my password.
If you have forgot or lost your password, please email the moderators with your username. A password reminder will be sent out to you. If this does not rectify the problem, your password can be manually reset by a moderator as long as your request is sent from the same email address associated with your account.

How do I keep the warning page from appearing?
The warning page will appear at least once per login session. You can change how often it appears by visiting the Site Optimisation Options page (scroll to the bottom).

How can I remove my story/stories from the archive?
For your stories to be removed you must email a request to the moderators from the email address associated with your author account (this is different from the account used to access the archive) and provide your author name and the name/s of the fic/s you want removed.

Do you have a privacy policy?
Yes, we do. You can read it here.

I want to link to a story from my website/livejournal, but everytime I click on the link I made, I end up on the front page of RS.org. What's up with that?
This used to be a problem on our old system, as you couldn't link directly to a story page, only to the disclaimer. On the new system, the dislaimer is displayed automatically, so the link should always be correct and will look something like http://www.restrictedsection.org/file.php?file=1234 - just the number at the end changes.
